SDS INSTITUTIONAL COMBATIVES TRAINING
This course is designed for sworn and non-sworn jail or prison staff which functions may
include booking, housing, custody, security or transportation of inmates / prisoners.

This highly dynamic course includes scenario based training in full-speed shank & knife
attacks, riot control, survival mindset, basic ground survival, crowd supression, and dealing
with combative inmates in a detention setting.

The students will perform cell extractions, special response situations and deal with a variety
of combatives in realistic scenarios. The students will also learn the practical, no-nonsense
conflict resolution and confrontatios management skills that will prepare them to safely and
effectively deal with all elvels of resistance.

All of our Instructors are active law enforcement officers with former first hand experience as
SERT or special emergency response operators and team leaders in a detention /correctional
facility.

This course, like all SDS Tactical training courses, can be modified and tailor made to the
agency or student's specifications to best benefit your department or unit.

This course will cover: (among other topics)
- How to survive a "shank" attack
- Techniques and tactics for subduing combative inmates
- Cell extraction methods and tactical deployment formations
- Riot control & supression tactics
- Prisoner transportation
- Searching techniques
- Tactical inmate inmobilization techniques and restraining tactics
